I want to be a sperm donor
Find out about the legislation surrounding sperm donation and how you can become a sperm donor.
If you want to be a sperm donor, you must contact a sperm bank.
The rules on the distribution of sperm are outlined inthe Human Tissue Act, which falls under the Ministry of the Interior and Health of Denmark’s remit.
You must meet the following criteria to become a sperm donor:
- Be fit and healthy
- Have no known serious hereditary diseases in the family
- Have a negative test for HIV, hepatitis B and C, syphilis and chlamydia
A person who can produce sperm and has had sexual intercourse with another person who can produce sperm within the past 12 months may become a sperm donor, provided they undergo a specific assessment of the risk of sexually transmitted diseases.
